Trusted Brokers Don’t Misrepresent Their Testing Capabilities

Posted by Todd Kramer on Apr 16, 2013 10:14:00 AM

In dealings within our business,  industry is taking notice that current suppliers are performing counterfeit detection and risk mitigation…hopefully what that means is that the broker is being transparent, offering the slew of tests which are listed in the AS6081, and getting preparing to get certified to that standard.   It’s the process that is getting audited.    In most cases, the broker is not representing that they are certified for the ability to test components, just that they have the capability to provide risk mitigation, by following the AS6081 standard.

Counterfeit Avoidance Mark Alliance

The United States National Committee through the IECQ has created the Counterfeit CAMAAvoidance Mark Alliance.    This alliance consists of distributors who possess counterfeit avoidance at its core.    This is evident and confirmed by a free database managed by USNC where the certifications are listed.   For more information on how to become a member please visit www.counterfeitavoidance.org or contact Ms. Christina Clark at Christina.Clark@ECCCorp.org for a membership application.
